The year is 1994, and for the first time in ages, the Triwizard Tournament is occurring. Hogwarts has been chosen to host this momentous event, much to the delight of its students. Unfortunately, due to previous injuries and deaths, only those of age may submit their name to the Goblet of Fire, vastly reducing the number of students who are able. That doesn't mean that younger students can't try. Also doesn't mean that they'll succeed. What does the Triwizard Tournament have in store for the schools of Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons? Who will be chosen to participate, and most importantly, will they all come out in one piece?

Zoey was first up to duel. She wondered who her opponent might be and felt a little shaky. It was her first time dueling this year. Last year she had dueled three times and lost all three times. But she had been studying a lot over the summer, though they weren't allowed to use magic. Since the start of the year, though, she did hands on practice. Perhaps this year, she could win a duel. Just one, she would be happy just to win one.
Zoey looked up at her opponent and felt like she was about to throw up. Oh Merlin, she was surely gonna lose now! She gave them a timid smile as they raised their wands in front of their faces and then walked to the either sides of the long table.
She pushed her wand in front of her and called out her first spell. "Aqua Eructo!" (OOC: This spell is used to create, and control, a jet of clear water from the tip of the wand.) EA5gU8Aa2

Ginny loved duelling lessons. She had improved exponentially over the years and she seemed naturally skilled at it. She had always been at the head of her classes when it came to Charms and hexes, so she most likely didn’t need to go. However, she liked helping others and deep down, she liked to show off somewhat. She went up first, and at first she thought she was against a first year and she almost stepped down. It took her a moment before she realized it was actually Zoey, a girl who was a year above her. She didn’t know her particularly well, but never had a bad vibe from her. Ginny’s initial double take cost her time, and she ended up soaked in water. She sputtered it out of her mouth and laughed despite being soaking wet. She admittedly underestimated Zoey. Before she could miss out on her turn, Ginny raised her wand, and through her curtain of red hair that nearly blocked her eyesight, she cried out, “Rictumsempra!”

Zoey watched the water shoot out of her wand and towards Ginny Weasley. It had taken Ginny by surprise and Zoey was so confident in her abilities now that she felt very good about herself. She saw the spell coming and quickly dodged it. Then followed it up with a spell of her own. But all she could think of was, "Cantis!" (Causes the victim to burst uncontrollably into song.) LwsWtitY2

Ginny felt a little bad about subconsciously thinking that Zoey might be an easy target because she looked weak. Isn't that what people did to her? She was impressed when Zoey missed her spell, but when Ginny was able to get her wet hair out of her eyes, she managed to dodge Zoey's as well.
Ginny tried to aim a little better this time. "Melofors!" It was a jinx that she had learned only a few months ago when George had used it on her. Needless to say, it had caused her a fair amount of frustration.

Zoey had let her first success go to her head and she paid dearly for it. She'd stood still like a scarecrow and ended up with a pumpkin as a helmet. At first she thought she'd gone blind, but she realized there was a heaviness on her shoulders and her head surrounded by something.
She grabbed hold of it and tried to lift it up, but it was tight around her neck and the opening wouldn't even go past her ears. Zoey panicked and couldn't figure out what to do.
"HELP!" she called out, her voice muffled by the pumpkin. Seeds and pumpkin guts got in her mouth and she feared she would suffocate.
Zoey loses the duel.
Ginny Weasley [TAG] 135 [WORDS] There are probably spells that could remove the pumpkin, or blast it away. But based off Zoey's personality, she's too distressed for her head to think clearly, so she's panicking and basically useless now. So she would lose this duel. Poor Zoey, but good thinking for Ginny! [NOTES]
