The year is 1994, and for the first time in ages, the Triwizard Tournament is occurring. Hogwarts has been chosen to host this momentous event, much to the delight of its students. Unfortunately, due to previous injuries and deaths, only those of age may submit their name to the Goblet of Fire, vastly reducing the number of students who are able. That doesn't mean that younger students can't try. Also doesn't mean that they'll succeed. What does the Triwizard Tournament have in store for the schools of Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons? Who will be chosen to participate, and most importantly, will they all come out in one piece?

Mia had no idea what to think of the new school. It wasn't much bigger than Beauxbatons, but it definitely wasn't as elegant. She wasn't saying anything bad about the British school, but the high class French school was very decorated and fancy. She had to admit though, she enjoyed the food here a lot more. She wasn't a fan of the seafood they served over there, but it was a daily menu item due to being around water. Well, she guessed that was the reason. Maybe it was because a lot of people considered seafood to be high class. She would much rather eat a burger.
That was definitely the tomboy in her though. Before she started school, she had lived in the part of France that was more inhabited by muggles. A couple years before she started school, they moved so they would be surrounded by kids like her, kids with magic. Before the move, she had been an outdoors, shooting range type of girl. She didn't have many friends because she knew she was magic and she didn't know if they would understand, so she stuck to herself and her father. She was closer to him than her mother, though she loved them both equally. After the move though, she had met some girls her age that had magic and she was transformed into a girly girl.
She had been shy all of her life though, mostly because she didn't socialize until after the move. By that time though, she really didn't know how to talk to people. The girls she had met had came up to her and did everything. Sighing, she started walking around the school. She wanted to make sure she knew where everything was. She had already went everywhere she could upstairs, so she decided to head downstairs. She made it back to the entrance hall, and started going down the stairs. She made it about halfway down and lost her footing. The next thing she knew, she was tumbling down the stairs. When she got to the bottom, she quickly checked to make sure she hadn't broken anything. Nothing was broken, but she knew she would be bruised. Feeling embarrassed, she decided to just sit there and sulk.
Dean hadn't done much that day, He was lazying about hogwarts. Avoiding homework and those he just didn't care for. He was however, feeling particularly flirty today, Not the kind of flirty he could use on any ole girl. No this was a whole new level, he needed a certain kind of girl for this. One that wouldn't shy away too much or at all. He was making his way from the Gryffindor Common room when from a distance he saw and painfully watched a girl tumble down the stairs.
Before he realized it, he was already in the action. She might need help! It was as if it was in his blood to help people, mostly the ladies though. Other men could take care of themselves typically. He was always ready to aid a woman in distress. Especially if they were a damsel and beautiful. He approached her from behind, coming down the stairs slowly as to not startle her.
“That was quite a tumble you had there”
His long legs stepped around her before he kneeled down in front of her. “are you alright there?” he questioned as he held his hand out to help her up. “can you walk?”
Mariah was embarrassed, but as long as no one had seen the fall, she would be fine. She took a look around and it didn't look like anyone was near by. Sighing in relief, she pulled up the side of her shirt to see if she was bleeding anywhere. It was red, but there didn't seem to be any blood. That would be a huge bruise for sure. She did the same with the other side, and it wasn't as bad. Her arms seemed to be doing well, but she knew her hips and thighs were pretty screwed. She pulled her shirt down and brushed the dirt that had gotten on her from the stairs.
All of a sudden there was someone there. Not just any someone though, a very attractive boy at that. Mariah could feel the blush creeping up to her face and knew she was fifty shades of red. "Um. Ye-yeah. I lost my f-footing near the stairs." She tried to give a smile, but as she looked at him to do so, she suddenly forgot where she was. She wasn't meaning to stare, but she lost her train of thought and did so for about a minute. As she realized what she was doing, she shook her head, bringing herself back to reality. "Um. I think I'm okay." She took his hand and stood up, cringing a little bit as she did so. Okay, maybe she was hurt a bit more that she thought.
She was horrible at talking to people, and boys were about ten times worse. There was a reason she was single, and had been all her life. You would think that growing up as a daddy's girl would make talking to boys easier, but it had actually made it harder. Maybe that was why her father had spent so much time with her, to make it hard to talk to boys. Well played father. As he asked if she could walk, she attempted to do so. She got a few feet away, and then came back. "Yeah, nothing's broken. I'll be bruised for a little bit." She finally got the smile she had been working on to show up. Hopefully he didn't think she was weird.
Dean nodded and smiled at her. “Good, I'd hate to see such a gorgeous girl to be injured.” he commented and flirted at the same time. Dean had a thing for blondes. Especially pretty ones like this one. Sure, there were some decent ones around but there was something different about this one, It was like he had never seen her before which easily could have been the case, Hogwarts was a large school. “ I'm Dean, and you are?” he casually asked for her name. Unlike a lot of men boys, Dean knew, he didn't have a problem talking to the opposite gender at all. It was his thing really. He was a charmer.
Dean was genuinely glad to see she could walk on her own. No, he wouldn't have minded carrying her to the infirmary of course but it was always better to not need medical attention in the first place. When a smile crawled over her face, one crawled over his. She had a pretty smile which matched her pretty face. “so, What house are you in?” he straight up asked. He was the type of man to get straight to the point. “What I mean is, I don't recall seeing you around.. so many it is what school?” he questionably asked her. He could beat around the bush all day for this pretty face, it was obvious that he wanted to get to know her a little bit. He was after all, attracted to her. “Personally, I am in my 7th year in Gryffindor. “ he stated before she could ask. If there was one thing he liked, it was talking about himself, a little bit anyways. He'd much rather talk about her though.
