The year is 1994, and for the first time in ages, the Triwizard Tournament is occurring. Hogwarts has been chosen to host this momentous event, much to the delight of its students. Unfortunately, due to previous injuries and deaths, only those of age may submit their name to the Goblet of Fire, vastly reducing the number of students who are able. That doesn't mean that younger students can't try. Also doesn't mean that they'll succeed. What does the Triwizard Tournament have in store for the schools of Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons? Who will be chosen to participate, and most importantly, will they all come out in one piece?

Fenrir was sitting on the red sofa across the low burning fireplace. It wasn't too cold just yet, but the fireplace gave the room a warm glow and it wasn't so hot that it made everyone sweat. It was a comfortable room and Fenrir was surrounded by many Hogwarts students who were trying to get him to learn the Hogwarts song. They had made a game of it and each time Fenrir said the wrong word, everyone chanted 'drink! drink! drink! drink!' The drink was mulled mead, which someone had amazingly smuggled in. Fenrir had never done such a thing within a school. It seemed so... American. But he had to admit, he was having fun.
The Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students were scattered across the houses. Of course, only the elite of their schools got to stay at Hogwarts for the year, so there weren't very many of them. Fenrir went to the Gryffindor and shared their classes. He'd been doing well in his classes in the Beauxbatons and had really nothing to worry about. Many of their curriculum was the same, but he did have to get used to everyone speaking English instead of French. He was proficient in English, so it wasn't too difficult.
He slammed the glass on the table as everyone cheered. "Oh, no more! Please," he said with a slight slur to his words as he laughed, his face flushed. "Look, here. I wager he doesn't even know the song," he said, his arm going over Ronald Weasley's shoulder, who sat beside him. "Come on, it's your turn," he said. He'd met Ronald Weasley at during the feast when they first arrived. He'd sat beside him in the Great Hall and found that he and his group of friends were rather very nice. Some of the students that he'd met the last time he was there were there still. But most of them, new faces. Including, the one that he saw just that moment.
On a chair right beside the sofa, sat a girl with brown hair. The light from the flames glowed against it. The light moved against her hair like golden and red water. He stood up, leaving Ron to sing the song by himself and walked towards the girl. He sat on the left arm of her chair as it was only big enough for one. Or perhaps two very small people.
"Dead flies and bits of fluff?" he inquired humorously. "Whoever created this song must have been truly inspired!" Fenrir looked at Ron who, in fact, did know the song word by word, but decided to drink the mulled mead anyways.
From her spot on the chair, Katie could watch the chaos that was happening. Some of the students had decided to make a drinking game out of the school song for the foreign students, and she couldn’t help but laugh about it. It seemed like something that George and Fred would have come up with, but they weren’t around at this point in time, so she had to assume that it was someone else. Either way she had watched multiple people try and try to get the song right but fail every time, thus having to take a drink.
It was pretty hilarious to watch. Most of the other students had given up, but right now a Beauxbatons student was still trying. He seemed to be doing the best even with how much he was slurring his words. Katie figured that he probably wouldn’t remember much of the night, when he awoke the next morning. But that wasn’t her problem. No she would remember it and be able to laugh about it with the rest of her housemates later on in the week, which was always fun for them to do.
While she watched the boy slammed his glass down on the table and say that he didn’t want anymore. She let out a small laugh. It was honestly quite funny. But hey she did have to give it to him he did better than most. It was when he told Ron that it was his turn to sing the song, that she knew he was really done. And she couldn’t help but shake her head at the boy. If he was trying to embarrass Ron by thinking that Ron didn’t know the song he was going to get a shock. After all with how many Weasley’s had traveled the Hogwarts halls, it was hard to think that Ron wouldn’t know the school song.
She was getting ready to watch Ron show up the other student when the Beauxbatons boy made his way over to where she was sitting. He placed himself on the armrest of her chair and she was a little shocked. He was the first foreign student to notice her let alone talk to her. ”Well you know, I think that they might have been a bit crazy when they came up with the song myself.”She said with a small laugh. She knew the song in itself was weird but to have someone actually say it to her she couldn’t help but agree.
”But it does make for a fun night, don’t you think?”She asked him with a small smile, while she rearranged herself in her chair so that she could actually see who she was talking to. And she couldn’t help but notice that he was actually quite handsome. And again she couldn’t help but wonder why he chose to come sit by and talk to her.

"I believe 'crazy' is an understatement," he said. The rest of the students had begun to sing their school song. The sheer pride in it made him smile even more. Fenrir joined on the 2nd verse and found himself stumbling on the words. So instead of trying to figure out what came next, he just made continuous noises and hums that sounded similar to the rhythm. He realized now that he must be truly inebriated to even partake in something as juvenile as this. But being juvenile was quite entertaining.
"Yes, fun!" Fenrir was able to see her face much better after she'd moved slightly. He turned his body more towards her as he balanced himself on the armchair. It was strong and didn't give in to his weight, which he was thankful for. The last thing he needed was to make a fool of himself as a Beauxbatons student who'd gotten rip roaring drunk and fallen off a chair. Of course, he wasn't that drunk, but if he continued, he would be. "Is this something that happens often here?" he asked, knowing that his own school wasn't as rambunctious. They had parties and had fun, yes, but it was slightly different.
Beauxbatons taught them manners and how to behave like proper young men and women. Parties consisted of dinners, or tea parties, with jokes and laughter and games. But what was going on in the Gryffindor Common Room at that moment was beyond anything he'd ever experienced. He tried to remember the last time he was there when he was 12 and couldn't quite remember that it was as fun as it was now. Then again, he was treated like a child, despite being well ahead of his class.
"I'm Fenrir Alexandre," he said offering his hand to her. Fenrir had met so many people over the last few days that he didn't know how he could possibly remember them all. He'd only remembered a select few. Harry Potter, of course. Viktor Krum. Ronald Weasley. Alice Stark. Hermione Granger. and a few others. And now this girl that sat on the chair beside him. Everyone else had been so forgettable that as soon as they introduced themselves with their names, he'd forget it that very second. He didn't bother to ask again, though. If they met again and talked after that initial meeting, then he'd find out their name somehow.
She laughed a little at his statement about crazy being and understatement. But she couldn't help but agree with him. No matter how much she loved her school, the school song did seem a little weird to her. But that wouldn't stop her from singing it with pride when she got the chance. "I guess you are right on that one." She said with a smile. She wasn't one to get upset when someone pointed out that she was wrong even if it was just cause she didn't quiet come up with the right description for something.
She watched as he tried to jump in and sing along with the rest of her house on the second verse of the song. And she was about to join in as well when he gave up on trying. "By the end of your time here you will have no problem singing that song." she told him. Having a feeling that he would get it down sooner, so that he wouldn't have to take as many drinks for messing up.
As he moved around to face her better she heard his next question. "Not that often, but often enough. We do parties like this after wins on the Quidditch pitch, and for other big things that put Gryffindor in the lead for house points." She answered as she looked around the room at her housemates. This was definitely something that she was used to, and she knew the rest of them all where as well. But it could be different and stranng for the forigen students, who didnt understa d them all that well. And while they didn't have parties like this all the time like some houses, they definitely knew how to party and how to hide it from their head. Although she had a feeling McGonagall knew what was going on up here, but since it was the weekend she didn't really care.
"It is nice to meet you Fenrir." She said as she took his hand to shake it. He had a nice name although for some reason she couldn't help but think that she heard the first name somewhere else before, and while it wasn't a big deal it was going to bother her until she figured it out. "I'm Katie Bell." she added a few seconds later figure she should give him her name so he knew what to call her.

Fenrir listened to her speak. Her English accent was overwhelmingly delightful to his ears and he could not help but turn his head slightly to the side. Fenrir was, in all sense of the word, enamored with the shapes that the girl's lips made with each word. He moved his tongue inside his mouth across the backs of his teeth as his listened. He wasn't much for fidgeting like many people did with their bodies and most specifically, hands. It was something that they were taught not to do. And by they, he meant his family of Veelas. Even in Beauxbatons, fidgeting was frowned upon. Each person had to hold themselves up and their heads up high. So when Fenrir felt nervous or was in deep thought or even in concentration, he would slide his tongue back and forth the back of his teeth.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Bell," he said taking her closest hand gently and pressing it to his lips as soft as he possibly could. Shaking hands was something reserved for males. Kissing of the hand was for females and did it every chance he could. He was raised as a proper young man after all.
"I suppose Gryffindors," he said laying on the thick English accent he'd learn to mimick, "are in the lead for... What was it, House points?" Fenrir tried to remember all the words she'd said. He'd heard them all before hundreds of times, but it always sounded so foreign to him. "We don't have this sort of rivalry between houses. In fact, we do not even have houses."
